How to change the interface language on a Windows computer
You can set the system language in Windows 10 and 11 using the Control Panel. To do this, proceed as follows.
1. Right click on the Start icon. Select "Settings".
2. In the menu that opens, click Time & Language.
3. Click on the "Language" tab in the menu on the left.
4. Click "Add a language". This button with a "+" sign is located at the bottom of the window, in the section with available languages.
5. Select another language that you will use on the computer. Click Next.
6. Click on the desired language - a page with a list of available options will open. Can choose recognition handwritten text, as well as speech-to-text translation.
7. Click Install. The new language will appear in the general list, all the necessary files will gradually be downloaded to the computer.
8. In the "Windows display language" item, select a dialect from the drop-down list.
9. The system will prompt you to restart your profile to apply the changes. Confirm the action. Log in with your account back. The selected language will become the main language for all system menus, windows and other elements.
How to change the system language on a macOS computer
On macOS, you can switch the language in System Preferences. To do this, do the following:
1. On the desktop, click on the Apple logo in the upper left corner of the screen. A drop-down menu will open, in it select "System Settings".
2. Next, click on the "Language and Region" item with an icon in the form flag.
3. Click on the "+" button, which is located in the lower left corner of the "Preferred Languages" field. A pop-up window will open with a list of languages.
4. Select the one you want and click "Add".
5. Confirm that you want to use this language as your primary language when prompted with a blue button.
6. If, after adding a language, you decide that the main one should still be another, then drag the desired one to the top of the “Preferred Languages” list. Reboot your system for the changes to take effect.
How to change the system language on a Linux computer
We offer a configuration option through the graphical interface of one of the most popular Linux versions — Ubuntu.
1. On the desktop, click the icon area in the upper right corner. From the drop-down menu, select "Settings" (Settings), then find the item "Region and language" (Region & Language).
2. Click on the name of the language in the item "Language" (Language). A list of languages installed on the system will open. If the one you want is already there, click on it and press the Select button.
3. If the desired option is not available, then it will have to be downloaded. Click on Manage Installed Languages, then Install / Remove Languages.
4. Select the desired language from the list with a checkmark and click "Apply" (Apply).
5. After installation, the added language will appear in the list of available ones, select it to activate. Reboot the system.
6. Upon restart, Ubuntu will prompt you to rename the system folders to match the new primary language. You can keep the old names or confirm the update.
