The legendary franchise will get a chance for a worthy sequel.
The Sun, citing its sources writesthat Johnny Depp will return to the role of Captain Jack Sparrow in the new part of "Pirates of the Caribbean" - five years after the last film in the series.
According to the publication, the actor's name is on the list of the creators of the picture, and Depp will also take part in test shooting, which will take place in the UK in February 2023 at a "top secret location."
So far, the project is called "A Day at Sea" and is at the initial stage of production. The director for the picture has not yet been fixed. Bruce Hendricks, who worked on the first three films, has been named executive producer.
According to sources, Disney is going to keep everything under wraps for as long as possible. At the same time, Depp himself previously stated that he would never return to the role of Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean.
Recall that Disney stripped Johnny Depp of a role in Pirates and other projects in 2018, when the actor began litigation with Amber Heard. In June 2022, the court sided with him - the jury found Amber guilty of libel in the case of protecting Depp's honor and dignity.
