Miscellaneous / / April 05, 2023
It will be an advanced headset for commercial markets.
Rumors that Apple is preparing to release a virtual and augmented reality device, walk for several years now. But you won't have to wait long for the release: data DigiTimes Asia (their quotes MacRumors), the production of the VR helmet will start in March 2023. It will be a hybrid device for working with virtual, mixed and augmented reality.
The helmet will be aimed at the commercial sector. It is expected to cost at least $2,000 (by comparison, Meta Quest Pro, which targets the same market, costs $1,499). At the same time, production will not be large: less than a million devices will be produced. The Taiwanese Pegatron plant, which has previously worked with Apple and Tesla, will be responsible for the final assembly.
It is possible that the first gadget will be the beginning of a new line of Apple devices, and over time more affordable solutions will come out aimed at ordinary consumers.
