Zoom launches its own mail service and calendar
Miscellaneous / / April 04, 2023
Now all work can be organized inside the Zoom workspace - without the solutions of Google and Microsoft.
Zoom developers at the annual Zoomtopia event introduced new mail and calendar services, Zoom Mail and Calendar, which will be part of the unified Zoom One interface for collaborative work.
The services are similar to Microsoft's Outlook and offer similar functionality. But due to full synchronization with Zoom, right in the calendar, users will see all scheduled meetings and participants who are already in the room. Links to entries and event status will also appear there.
Zoom Mail will use end-to-end encryption to ensure all data is secure. Users will be able to use the @zmail.com domain for their accounts, and Zoom One Business plan customers can create their own.
Zoom also shared some other new features at its event. One of them is called Zoom Spots, which helps "ensure a seamless in-person interaction" by keeping team members' cameras on in the virtual space. Zoom Spots will launch in early 2023, while calendar and mail will be released in beta versions.
