If the update is already installed, do not turn off the watch manually.
A serious bug has been discovered in the R8xxXXU1GVI3 update for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic. By messages users from different countries, installing a new version of the software can turn the gadget into a brick without the possibility of recovery.
The update was released back in October, but they did not immediately learn about the problem. This is due to the fact that the bug does not activate immediately - but there is a risk that if you turn off the clock after installing a fresh assembly, you will not be able to turn it back on. The exact extent of the problem is unknown, but it is not limited to a specific region.
According to user reports, the Korean division of Samsung in such cases changes the watch to a new one. This implies that the error cannot be corrected programmatically.
Also among the known bugs of this update is the disconnection of watches from smartphones of the Galaxy S22 series. This can be solved by resetting the settings and re-binding the clock.
Samsung technical support notedthat the company is aware of the problems with the update, and distribution of VI3 has been suspended. Galaxy Watch 4 users who have already updated are advised to contact the official Samsung service or contact the regional representatives of the brand.
