Belkin launches first official MagSafe car charger

Available for pre-order in the US Apple Store accessory Belkin Boost Charge Pro Wireless Car Charger With MagSafe. As the name suggests, this is a car charger for iPhone 12, 13 and 14 equipped with MagSafe.

What is the difference between the novelty and the many similar devices that can be found on AliExpress? Third party versions can work with MagSafe but use the magnet only for positioning. Charging itself is, in fact, a regular Qi device, so the power is limited to 7.5 watts. Real MagSafe, as in the case of Belkin, already provides 15 watts.

The magnet also allows you to securely mount your smartphone on the stand in a vertical or horizontal position - provided that you use a case with MagSafe or do not put it on at all: on a regular plastic or silicone case, there is not enough strong fixation achieve.

Charging is connected to the power source via USB-C. Also included is a cigarette lighter socket adapter for cars that don't have USB-C.

A new Belkin charger costs $99.95, which is about 6,100 rubles at the current exchange rate. It goes on sale November 14th.
