China's XPeng showed a test of a 2-ton flying car with 8 propellers

In the future, such an electric car will drive on public roads, flying over traffic jams and other obstacles on the way.
The Chinese automaker XPeng, known for its electric cars, has moved into a new phase of testing the AeroHT flying sports car. This is a full-size vertical take-off and landing vehicle that looks like a giant drone.
The main idea of AeroHT is that one and the same car can be driven on public roads and fly without using specialized runways.
The AeroHT was originally planned to have folding propellers. It was this design that was demonstrated on spectacular concepts.
The prototype, which was recently flown in Dubai, has a fixed lift system based on eight massive propellers with powerful independent engines.
No information on range or battery endurance has yet been given, but given the huge size of this strange machine and its weight of 1936 kg, it is unlikely that it will be able to replace a helicopter. XPeng Engineers considerthat such cars would be an ideal vehicle for quickly overcoming traffic jams and obstacles such as rivers and ravines.
XPeng also states that the AeroHT is "comparable to any conventional vehicle in terms of functionality and size." In flight mode, the car is controlled using the steering wheel and the right gear lever, which becomes an element of controlling forward and backward movement, turning, lifting, hovering and decline.
Further details of the development of the project have not yet been given, but AeroHT is definitely not standing still.
