Chrome will learn to open search results in the sidebar
Miscellaneous / / April 04, 2023
Google announced new search mode in Chrome browser: in the sidebar instead of a full new tab. The announcement blog post claims that this will make it easier to reconcile information. You no longer have to switch between tabs or enable multi-window mode.
It works simply: enter a query in the address bar and click on the "Show search in the sidebar" button with the Google logo. A small panel will expand on the right, which can be controlled independently of the rest of the tab.
Google does not specify the exact release date, but this feature should be available to all users in the near future.
Earlier it was reported that Google tests tab freeze function and power saving mode: they save RAM and battery consumption of laptops, respectively.
