How can you improve your bookmarks bar in Mozilla Firefox
Tips / / December 19, 2019
Bookmarks Toolbar is definitely a good thing. It provides quick access to specific sites, folders with sites and, most importantly, to the bookmarklet. However, the panel takes valuable space and are not always necessary constantly. It would be more convenient to make it appear when you hover the mouse cursor, ie when it is really needed. It's real.
Us again, like yesterday, will have to seek help from userChrome.css file. Search it should be in a profile in the chrome folder:
IN Windows Vista / XP / 2000:% AppData% \ Mozilla \ Firefox \ Profiles \ xxxxxxxx.default \
IN Windows 95/98 / Me: C: \ WINDOWS \ Application Data \ Mozilla \ Firefox \ Profiles \ xxxxxxxx.default \
Linux: ~ / .Mozilla / firefox / xxxxxxxx.default /
Mac OS X: ~ / Library / Application Support / Firefox / Profiles / xxxxxxxx.default /
It may well be that you do not have userchrome.css file from the file, and there userchrome-example.css file. Then simply create userchrome.css in the chrome folder.
After opening the file, add the following lines:
/ * Pop-up bookmarks toolbar * / #PersonalToolbar {display: none;}
# Navigator-toolbox: hover> #PersonalToolbar {display: -moz-box;}
After editing, save the file, restart your browser. Now bookmarks bar appears only when the mouse. Took over and it disappears :)
