Soldering iron and chicken: the web has chosen the worst scientific stock photos

Dr. Keith Chapman of Falmouth University (Cornwall, England) announced last week's competition for the worst stock science photos. On Twitter, he offered several strange shots, among which users chose the most terrible.

The posts quickly went viral and attracted huge attention on the Web - the photos collected more than 420,000 votes. Here are the winners of this impromptu competition.

1. First place - "Hold my soldering iron."

2. Second place is a frame with raw chicken and syringes, which is difficult to somehow explain.

3. Third place - a creepy scientist, not at all credible.

4. Fourth place - a frame with two scientists who have only one set of gloves and one goggles for two.
