Paramount is about to release a new "Naked Gun" with Liam Neeson

According to the plot, this may be a direct continuation of the cult comedies of the 90s.

Paramount Pictures is working on a reboot of the legendary Naked Gun. Liam Neeson is in talks for the lead role. The actor could play the son of Detective Frank Drebin, who was played by Leslie Nielsen in the original trilogy.

By data Deadline may be directed by Akiva Shaffer, who directed Chip and Dale for Disney+ and also produced Hanging in Palm Springs. The script will be handled by Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, who also worked on Chip and Dale.

The project has yet to be greenlit, but sources say the film will go into production as soon as the Neeson deal is closed.
