A repository for storing open source programs will be launched in Russia

The Government of the Russian Federation approved a resolution on conducting an experiment on the use of software open source software (open source), within which a special software repository. About it writes Interfax.

We are talking about granting the right to use computer programs, algorithms, databases and documentation for them, including the exclusive right of which belongs to the state, on the terms of an open license and the creation of conditions for the use open source software.

The experiment should be carried out from November 1, 2022 to April 30, 2024 with the participation of the Ministry of Digital Development, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Rosreestr, the Russian Fund development of information technologies (RFRIT), as well as other government agencies, state corporations, legal entities and individuals who have submitted the relevant applications.

Based on the results of the experiment, proposals will be prepared for regulatory regulation and methodological support for the publication of open source solutions.
