No longer a minor character: CBS will release the Watson series about Sherlock Holmes' assistant

The American channel CBS plans to shoot a new television project based on the works of Arthur Conan Doyle. It will be a medical drama with detective elements about John Watson. About it informs Deadline citing industry insiders.
The story line is already known. A year after Holmes' death at the hands of Moriarty, Dr. Watson returns to medicine. He heads a clinic specializing in the treatment of rare diseases. But the old life will not let him go so easily: he will have to face Moriarty again. In the new film adaptation, the focus will shift from solving crimes to the mysteries of diseases and how they destroy our lives.
The lead actor has not yet been chosen, but it is known that Craig Sweeney will write the script and act as an executive producer. He is known for his work on the series "Regions of Darkness" and "Elementary".
