"Yandex" has released a new "Station Max", "Hub" and smart home sensors - all with Zigbee

Yandex has officially introduced fresh smart home devices with support for the Zigbee and Matter protocols. These include an updated "Station Max", a small "Hub" to which you can connect sockets, switches and other sensors, as well as a set of sensors.

Zigbee and Matter

The Zigbee protocol, which was previously supported only by "Station 2”, allows you to create local scripts to automatically start devices even without the Internet. For example, you can link a motion sensor and a light bulb so that the light turns on even if Wi-Fi goes down. Also Zigbee devices respond faster to commands and consume much less power, so many can work for a long time from batteries.

Matter, on the other hand, is a modern single protocol that unifies smart home systems and allows devices from different brands to work with each other. Its support will soon significantly expand the list of devices compatible with Alice.

"Station Max"

The new "Station Max" externally and in terms of its technical characteristics does not differ from the original model, with the exception of the radiator grille - it has become more elegant.

Otherwise, it's still the same flagship smart speaker with 65 W three-way sound, 4K video output, LED screen and Dolby Audio technology. It will be available in four colors: gray, blue, black and burgundy.

"Yandex Hub"

This is a small wired device for those who don't have a Zigbee speaker. It is designed to control smart home and all compatible gadgets. It can be connected to sensors, sockets and other devices for automation scenarios. And if you connect a column with Alice to the Hub, you can give voice commands.

The "hub" has Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth and an infrared port that allows you to control ordinary home appliances with an IR remote control. For example, TV or air conditioning. For ease of use, the novelty can be mounted on the wall.

Sensors

The new set has five Zigbee-enabled sensors: a window and door sensor, a motion and light sensor, a temperature and humidity sensor, a leak sensor, and a wireless button. All devices are quite compact and have a concise design.
