What things in the house do we constantly forget to take apart during cleaning?
Miscellaneous / / April 04, 2023
As soon as you eliminate these blockages, the houses will immediately become much cleaner and freer.
1. CDs, DVDs and records
If you still have a collection of CDs or DVDs from the good old days, it's time to revise and discard the excess. Particularly interesting and rare specimens can be sold at a flea market, and the rest can be taken to a separate waste collection point.
It is important for vinyl lovers not to forget to keep an eye on the records - regularly wipe them from dust with a special brush or microfiber cloth.
2. old technology
Perhaps in the box with discs you will also find old slider phone, CD player and VCR with a couple of cassettes. All this can also be recycled or offered to collectors of retro gadgets.
3. Books
For many of us, books are very personal things. So much so that the mere thought of decluttering a literary collection can cause a storm of emotions.
The truth is that you probably have books that you have never opened and do not intend to open. University textbooks, outdated reference books, or simply works that you constantly intend to read but never do.
Take a critical look at your personal library and set aside without regret anything that you will definitely never need again. What has already lost its relevance, for example, instructions from the “Internet for Dummies” series, can be handed over for waste paper. And it is better to donate good books to the nearest library, where they will definitely find their reader.
4. Candles
If you love aromatic candles or you are constantly given them, you probably already have an impressive collection, although not all the "exhibits" you really need.
Collect all the candles in the house and set aside those that have very little wax left. Put them in the freezer overnight. When frozen, the wax shrinks and is much easier to remove. And the remaining glass container can be recycled.
5. Bottles at the bar
The home bar is the last place we think of while cleaning. As a result, there you can find dusty bottles of alcohol, which we gave a few years ago and which we have safely forgotten about.
First of all, find drinks that have already gone bad. Different alcohol has a different expiration date, so it is better to check the information on the label.
As a rule, cream liqueurs can be stored for up to two years, and an open bottle of vermouth - only a few months. Distilled spirits, such as vodka, rum or tequila, have a longer shelf life. Leave those of them that will definitely wait in the wings, and get rid of the rest.
6. Jewelry in a box
Browse through your accessory collection and put aside what you haven't worn in a long time and don't plan to wear anymore. Cheap jewelry can simply be thrown away, while valuable jewelry, such as rings or earrings with stones, is best taken to a jeweler. He will determine the cost of products if you want to get rid of unnecessary things with profit.
7. Cosmetics samples
This category includes mini-versions of skin care or makeup products and small tubes from hotels that are left over after trips. Divide everything into three categories: keep for use, send for recycling, give to those who need it.
