Cloud storage, ad-free email, tech support, suspicious link checking and more.
At the end of January, Microsoft will offer users a new affordable Microsoft 365 Basic subscription for $1.99 per month. She intended to replace the 100 GB OneDrive plan with some additional features.
In addition to 100 GB in the cloud, the subscription will offer ad-free Outlook on the web and on mobile devices, as well as features mailbox data encryption, checking for suspicious links, and scanning attachments for viruses and malware programs.
OneDrive users with 100 GB will be automatically upgraded to a Microsoft 365 Basic subscription at the same monthly price of $1.99.
In addition, the subscription will include access to Microsoft technical support, which includes phone or online chat assistance for both Microsoft 365 Apps and Windows 11.
Later this year, users will be offered a Personal Vault for their most sensitive data, ransomware detection and bulk file recovery, added to Microsoft.
The main difference between Basic and the $6.99 Personal subscription is that it doesn't include access to the desktop versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Customers will have to use web versions or mobile versions of applications.
Microsoft 365 Basic should be available worldwide on January 30th.
