Google Calendar Bug Adds Extra Gmail Events to Schedule
Miscellaneous / / April 03, 2023
Even events from newsletters are pulled up. You can fix it in a couple of seconds.
There is a common bug in Google Calendar where events are added to the schedule based on Gmail subject lines.
Everything gets into the schedule: shopping reports, meteorological reports and newsletters. Such events are marked as an all-day event, and notifications with the same name also appear on Android. Typically, email subject lines are added that mention dates, such as "Sale until January 2nd" or "Top news December 25th." For heavy Gmail users, monthly plans turn into a mess.

Probably the bug will be fixed in the near future. So far it is possible protect calendar from spam by turning off the synchronization of events. To do this, open "Google Calendar", go to the settings and find the "Events from Gmail" section on the left panel. Uncheck the "Show events from Gmail in my calendar" checkbox.
After that, new events from Gmail will no longer appear in the calendar, and old ones will also be deleted, which will eliminate the need to clean the schedule manually.
