This will be the very beginning of the story of the bear with sawdust in his head.
DreamWorks Alumni Group expects restart the story of Alan Milne's bear cub, telling about its origin. The feature-length prequel will be directed by Mike de Seve (Madagascar, Monsters vs. Aliens).
As with Paddington, the film, which is slated for release in 2024, will be immediately followed by a TV series. Its co-writer John Reynolds noted:
We tell the amazing story of the origin of the "stupid young bear" and his friends when they were still children. This will help connect them to the children of the 21st century.
It is known that the film will take place before the plot of the book by Alan Alexander Milne, first published in 1926. The audience is in for a "damn big adventure," said the creators of the project.
The film and series were inspired by the success of Paddington Bear and Peter Rabbit, which received hugely successful reboots on the big screen.
