Miscellaneous / / April 03, 2023
We sum up the results of the outgoing year and choose the best of the best. This is the opinion of the editors, and you can determine the winner by voting.
In 2022, the trend of recent years continued - it was more interesting to follow Russian TV series than Russian cinema. They do not always have more originality, but definitely more life and a desire to express themselves - it is the series that give chances to young screenwriters and directors who do not want to compromise with the industry.
"Black Spring" attracts both with its original plot, and with the accurate transfer of the atmosphere of the province, and with the vivid images created by the young actors, and with its uncompromising, biting, stylishness. Therefore, we recognized it as the best Russian series of the outgoing year.
A Moscow director comes to the province to shoot an advertisement. In passing, he seduces the high school student Angela, who is filming with him. A guy nicknamed Mel, fascinated by the 19th century and in love with Angela, challenges the director to a real duel. Murder opens up a new world for teenagers, where honor means more than life.
The tragic story about teenagers seeking justice in an unfair world turned out to be very amplitude. Sergei Taramaev and Lyubov Lvova, both screenwriters and directors of the series, managed to capture the combination of beauty and horror. The morning sea tide captivates exactly until a murder happens next to it - and this is a standard scene for "black spring». Admiration and shock constantly replace each other. Brilliant dialogues and monologues help depict the inner world of the characters - it is complex, confusing and contradictory.
However, 2022 will be remembered by us and other worthy Russian TV series. So, "Zero patienttells about the HIV epidemic in Elista. Quarrels between doctors who do not understand the consequences of an infection, bureaucratic delays, people's distrust of each other - a lot of reasons lead to terrible consequences. The series is attentive to details and retells one of the most terrible stories of the late USSR as authentically as possible.
Aurora is somewhat reminiscent of the animated series Bojack Horseman. The actress, who became a star as a child, turned into an alcoholic by the age of 25. Another binge beats off the memory of the heroine, and attempts to restore the chronology of events of several weeks makes her plunge into memories and reasoning about her whole life. As in the case of Bojack Horseman, the series makes you cry and laugh.
«in two»Valery Todorovsky was surprised by the cast (starring Danila Kozlovsky and Alexander Petrov), pleased with the melancholy mood, but turned out to be protracted. The season is over 8 hours long, with all the best shown in the first episode. But romantics will love the series.
"The Negotiator" is about a man who lost his daughter in a terrorist attack in which he unsuccessfully acted as a negotiator. Years later, the hero again faces the traces of this tragedy. And this makes him reflect on what happened again.
«close gestalt” pleases with an amazing melancholic mood, but repels with hackneyed jokes. You can give it a chance and turn it off in the middle of the first episode, or you can admire the Petersburg autumn and watch the whole season - the series depends too much on the mood of the viewer.
