Disney announces cast for Star Wars series Acolyte

From the official Star Wars website appeared a post revealing details about the upcoming Acolyte series. Now it has become known which actors will star in the new Lucasfilm project:

• Manny Jacinto ("Bad Times at the El Royale");
• Daphne Keen ("Logan");
• Jody Turner-Smith ("True Blood");
• Rebecca Henderson ("Inventing Anna»);
• Charlie Barnett ("Matryoshka Life");
• Dean Charles ChapmanGame of Thrones»);
• Carrie-Anne Moss ("Matrix»).

The action of the series will unfold in the last days of the Supreme Republic. In the story, the former Padawan returns to the Jedi Master to help investigate the mysterious crimes - but it turns out that they have to confront much more sinister forces than they expected.

Leslie Headland (Matryoshka Life) is the showrunner and executive producer of the project, and she will also direct the pilot episode. Filming has already begun in the UK, with no release date yet. The series will be released exclusively on Disney+.
