Apple will let you not say hello to Siri to execute commands
Miscellaneous / / April 03, 2023
It will be possible to go straight to the point: "Siri, turn on the music."
By data Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, Apple is going to simplify the command to call the voice assistant. Instead of “Hey Siri,” just say Siri and go straight to the request.
Although the change seems minor, technologically it is not an easy task. The longer the phrase, the easier it is to train the neural network to respond. Alice from Yandex and Amazon Alexa already know how to respond to the name, but Google is only teaching this feature to its Assistant.
It is noted that Apple has been working on innovation for several months, and the changes will come into force in 2023 or 2024. So far, the simplified call is being tested among company employees. The main task is to teach the assistant to "distinguish" his name, pronounced with different accents and dialects.
In parallel, the company is working on deeper integration of Siri into third-party applications in order to more accurately process user requests. As a result, the helper should better understand the context and not produce unexpected and unwanted results.
