But the company has not yet left the country.
The American corporation PepsiCo has completely stopped the production of Pepsi, 7UP and Mountain Dew carbonated drinks in Russia. About it writes Reuters.
For the first time, PepsiCo announced plans to suspend sales in the country back in March. But, as Reuters representatives noted, the company's drinks remained available in dozens of hypermarkets, retail stores and gyms in Moscow and beyond. And everywhere they were with production dates in July and August at factories in Russia.
It was only after these sales were pointed out that PepsiCo announced a complete cessation of production. Although a company spokesperson noted that drinks will no longer be produced due to stock depletion necessary concentrates, and that this decision is "consistent with the statement that the company made in March."
PepsiCo does not completely leave Russia - the company will continue to produce essential goods, such as dairy products and baby food.
