Google will start hiding unwanted images in search

Obscene and dangerous pictures will "blur".
Google has announced that it will soon begin hiding "inappropriate" images from searches by default using the "Safe Search" filter. The latter is designed to help people protect themselves and family members from being accidentally exposed to pornographic and violent graphic content.
This change is timed to coincide with World Safer Internet Day, which is celebrated on the second day of the second week of February (February 7 this year).
The result of applying the filter will be a blur of an unacceptable image, which can be taken with the click of a button - if you are over 18 years old. Age will be verified by Google account. If desired, "Safe Search" can be completely disabled in the settings.
The filter only works on Google search results and does not block content that the user might find on other search engines or websites. The developers also note that, "Safe Search" is not 100% accurate and may be wrong when analyzing images.
We also note that the filter itself is not new - it has long been used for underage Google account holders, but unauthorized children were not protected. That is why now the option is applied by default.
