Logan wrestled Kendall in season 1
The events of the series unfold around (or inside) one of the most powerful families in the United States. Logan Roy is a media mogul who owns Waystar Royco. His holding includes TV channels, newspapers, amusement parks, and travel agencies.
Logan has four children. Kendall Roy is the prime candidate for fatherhood. Shiv Roy is trying to build a career as a political media consultant. Roman works in the structure of the company in positions that his father is ready to give him. Connor, Logan's firstborn, became farmer. He has retired from the affairs of the company, but lives at the expense of his father. There is also Greg, the grandson of his brother Logan Roy, who is on the board of directors. Greg is ready for any job in the company because he can't do anything.
On the day of his 80th birthday, Logan Roy suddenly announces that he does not intend to leave the post of head of Waystar Royco, and ruins Kendall's plans. After the celebration of the anniversary, the head of the family overtakes heart attack. While her father is in a hospital bed, Kendall takes over as CEO of the company. To keep the holding afloat, Kendall sells part of the shares and a seat on the board of directors to an old friend of Stewie's. Logan Roy, recovering from his illness, is unhappy with this decision, as Stewie and his associates have been trying to take over Waystar Royco ever since.
Logan removes Kendall from business and declares that he is not going to give up power. Kendall puts forward a vote of no confidence in his father in the hope of removing him from office, but the plan fails. Logan intimidates the board of directors and fires those who wanted him to resign. And Kendall starts taking drugs again.
Tom, Shiv's fiancé and head of amusement parks and cruises, discovers that his predecessors covered up the deaths of employees and rape on the company's ships. For years, Waystar Royco has paid people to keep quiet. Tom asks Greg to destroy the evidence. Greg does so, but keeps copies of some documents.
Kendall, now out of business, becomes close to Stewie and his partner. Together they decide to buy the company. Kendall is ready to help, but on the condition that he be appointed CEO. During weddings Shiv, he hands his father an offer to buy the company. Logan turns the family against him. A frustrated Kendall approaches one of the waiters and takes him to town for drugs. During the trip, he loses control, an accident occurs, during which the passenger dies. Logan Roy orders his subordinates to cover their tracks and forces Kendall to pull out of the deal in exchange for covering up the crime. The son agrees.
In the second season, Kendall was a devoted son
Kendall goes to rehab, but a few days later Waystar Royco employees take him away. They demand that he record a video message in which Kendall needs to disown Stewie and his Sandy's partner and convince the others that his father's plan for the company is much better than the plan competitors. He becomes a devoted son and does whatever his father asks.
Logan Roy gathers his children together and decides to talk to each one in person. In a conversation with Shiv, he tries to convince her that he sees his successor in her. Encouraged by her father's sudden love and trust, Shiv finishes political career and becomes an employee of Waystar Royco.
Meanwhile, Logan decides to buy out the Pierce family company responsible for all liberal news. Riya, an employee of the Pierces, is actively helping the Swarms make this deal. The Piers invite the Logan family over to meet them in person. At dinner, they demand to name a successor, and Shiv decides to break the veil of secrecy. But suddenly it turns out that Logan was not going to appoint her successor. The deal is broken.
New York Magazine journalists publish material on cases sexual harassmentthat took place on Waystar Royco cruises. Shiv, as the only woman in the family, gives a press conference. There, she refers to her father as a "dinosaur", and Logan becomes furious: he fires Shiv and appoints Rya, a former employee of the Pierces, as the company's new successor.
The Roy family is called to the Senate to answer questions regarding cruises. Tom and Greg were unable to avert suspicion from themselves due to a flimsy defense. The company faces criminal prosecution. Logan is convinced that he must give the authorities a man who will take responsibility for covering up the crimes. He decides to sacrifice Kendall. The son agrees and calls a press conference. On it, he states that Logan Roy is guilty of covering up crimes, and shows the documents copied by Greg.
In the third season, Kendall is at war with his family
Kendall hires lawyers and public relations managers to remove the father. Logan leaves the country for fear of arrest and appoints Jerry, the company's lawyer, to his post. Shiv, upset by the news, meets up with Kendall, Roman, and Connor. Kendall tries to win them over to his side, but fails: everyone simultaneously wants to be the new head and is too afraid of his father to remove him.
Waystar Royco's shareholder vote is approaching, threatening the company with the Roy losing control of their own company. Shiv manages to reach an agreement with Stewie and partners in exchange for an increase in their seats on the board of directors.
Logan, fearful of a takeover, decides to invest big and buy streaming giant gojo. The purchase will allow Waystar Royco to stay afloat for a long time: television and news are becoming obsolete, and the media holding no longer has other relevant assets. However, GoJo shares are rising too fast, so the companies can only merge on equal terms.
Kendall gets tired of waging war with the family after the news that the Justice Department will not file a case against Logan and the company will only get a fine.
Meanwhile, Logan's ex-wife is preparing to remarry, the whole family gathers in Italy to the ceremony. Roev's father plays his game at the event and decides to sell the family company. Shiv and Roman find out about this, they go for the help of Kendall, who recently planned to commit suicide. However, the war against his father brings him back to his senses.
Logan's kids team up to stop their father. After the divorce, their mother wrote in the marriage contract that without the participation of children it is impossible to carry out serious changes in the company. Kendall, Shiv and Roman go to their father, Shiv calls her husband Tom and asks him for help. He enlists the support of Greg and leaves to make a secret call. When Kendall, Shiv and Roman visit Logan, they find out that he managed to change the prenuptial agreement with his ex-wife, so that he can neglect the opinions of the children. The head of the family calls them traitors.
