Windows 11 computers started showing the "System requirements not met" watermark
Miscellaneous / / April 02, 2023
It seems that along with the Windows 11 January Update, computers received not only security improvements, but also an annoying bonus: a “System requirements not met” watermark for the desktop.
So far, we are talking about isolated cases: so far, only individual users Windows 11 22H2 with the new patch are complaining about such a watermark on the Microsoft feedback forum. It is noteworthy that the owners of computers, who should not have had problems with the new version of the system, also faced such a problem. Windows Latest leads User quotes from the Feedback Hub:
- “Windows 11 was preinstalled on my computer and I have been using it for over a year. But all of a sudden, "System requirements not met" appeared above the taskbar and a suggestion to find out more in the settings.
- “I bought a computer in 2021 already with Windows 11 and everything was fine. But today I suddenly got a "System requirements not met" notification and it says in the settings that the PC does not meet the requirements of Windows 11.
In 2022, Microsoft has already tested a similar notification on users of the beta version of the system. Now, it seems that it will gradually be rolled out to users of the stable version.
Way to deal with annoying sign found even during testing. Here's what to do.
How to disable "System requirements not met"
1. Use the key combination Win + R. In the line that appears, enter regedit and click OK.
2. In the window that opens, expand the list on the left: HKEY_CURRENT_USER → Control Panel. Select the UnsupportedHardwareNotificationCache folder.
3. Find the SV2 file and right click on it. Select Edit.
4. Enter 0 in the Value field and click OK.
5. Restart your computer.
After that, the notification should disappear. It may return with the next system update. In this case, just repeat the same steps.
