Chrome 110 update is out. It does not support Windows 7

Google has released the Chrome 110 update. It brought several new features - however, not all users will be able to try them out. This is the first version of Chrome that requires Windows 10 or later to install. At the same time, by data StatCounter, as of January 2023, Windows 7 and 8.1, which are no longer supported, are running almost 12% of all Windows computers.

Windows 10 and 11 users (as well as macOS, Chrome OS, iOS, and Android) have already begun receiving the update. Here are the features it adds:

• The PC version has learned to use biometrics and a passcode to confirm autofill through a password manager.
• More convenient language settings for the built-in translator at chrome://settings/language.
• Support for Nvidia RTX Video Super Resolution, a tool that increases resolution while playing in the browser. For example, if you have a 4K display and you're playing at 1080p, the picture will automatically upscale to 4K. The feature works with RTX 3000 and RTX 4000 series graphics cards.

• Safe Mode has learned to parse extension requests for cookies to better track malware.
• Developers will be able to change the display of the player in the picture-in-picture mode.
• Web applications will be able to open in a new window or already open - at the choice of developers. Thanks to this, games will not join an already open pile of tabs and will be able to immediately run separately.

If you have automatic updates turned on, chances are you already have Chrome 110 installed. You can check this by opening your browser settings.
