Johnny Depp to direct Modigliani biopic about Italian artist

At the end of the trial with his ex-wife Amber Heard, Johnny Depp returns to work in a big movie. He starred in the film "The Favorite", in which he plays one of the main roles, and at the same time directs the film "Modigliani". About it informs edition of The Hollywood Reporter.

Modigliani tells the story of the life of the Italian artist Amadeo Modigliani, based on a stage production by Dennis McIntyre. The action takes place in Paris in 1916. The protagonist has already gotten used to the idea that all his work is a complete failure, but the events of 48 hours turn his life upside down.

In addition to Depp, the producers of "Modigliani" are Al Pacino and Barry Navidi. The latter have already worked together on the films "The Merchant of Venice" and "Salome", Depp also has experience in producing - in the films "The Rum Diary", "Minamata" and not only. He directed only one film: "The Brave" in 1997, in which he played the main role along with Marlon Brando.
