I use the 11 "MacBook Air from Apple, so that the screen space for me - precious" real estate ". Given this fact, I minimized the application's main window, which is used more often. I also made screenshots of what they look like on the MacBook Air the small screen. Let's get started.
1. Twitter-app
The world has more Twitter-applications than the sand in the desert. I have long identified their favorite (Twitterrific for iPhone and iPad, Twitter for Mac), But still I continue to try new releases. I also understand that the choice of a suitable you Twitter-client - this is not a 5-minute thing, so in the review included a few examples. Below you will see how to look like five Twitter clients on the 11 "MacBook Air.
* The screenshots display set to 1366 × 768.
Osfoora ($4.99)
Sidebar imploded and displays only the icons, the timeline displays about 5 tweets. Appendix took 2/3 of the height of my display. Not bad, but not fantastic.
Tweetbot alpha v. 0.6
Yes, most likely applications while changes before the release, but the alpha is public and people are very happy. Dimensions sidebar at this time can not be changed. Toolbar is high and it is a little more than Osfoora shows five tweets in the timeline. The app takes about 3/4 the height of my screen.
Twitter for Mac (Free)
This minimalistic app shows only three tweets at a time and takes ¹/₂ of the screen height. The only reason that I use Twitter for Mac - it's blue lights in the sidebar that is visible for a single account. Can I use keyboard shortcuts to switch between accounts, but I really like to see the figures at a glance.
Twitterrific (Free with ads, $ 9.95)
Twitterrific lets you hide the sidebar completely and reduce the window to display a single tweet and a half. It takes about 1/4 of the height of my monitor. I doubt that I would have used it in this mode - I want to see at least four or five tweets at once.
Wren ($4.99)
Wren unique in that it shows only the tweets that you write, as well as three of your draft with tweets. It does not have the timeline. Most of all I use Wren in those moments when I need to share something and do not have time to incoming tweets. It is also a way to save hroshy future tweets. Wren only two sizes: full screen, and the one you see here. The app takes a height slightly less than ¹/₂ display.
Finally, look at all the five applications side-by-side (note that they do not all fit on the screen, MacBook Air, so this screenshot taken from my external 20 monitor tidyuymovogo:
From left to right: Wren, Twitter, Osfoora, Tweetbot alpha, Twitterrific. Note that Twitterrific is the only app that allows me to hide the sidebar completely.
other applications
Now I'll show you how to look the most used applications on the Air me.
Colloquy (Free)
Colloquy, my favorite IRC-client, minimize the utmost.
Fantastical ($9.99)
Fantastical allows you to specify which calendars are displayed, and how many days it will be shown at the same time. Selecting "today and tomorrow" reduces everything to a healthy minimum. Better feature of this app is that it disappears when it is not necessary to me.
OmniFocus ($39.99)
It is a kind of deception, since it is not a complete application, but the window quick entry OmniFocus - this is what I see most often. Accurate and fast application.
Reeder ($4.99)
Reeder looks very nice, especially when its appearance minimize. Select «Minimized» of the «View» menu and reduce the sidebar so that instead of the feed name display icons.
Sparrow ($9.99)
Sparrow also looks great when minimized. Hide the message bar and sidebar, to get a look. If anything, you can always use the keyboard shortcuts.
It was a quick look at some of the popular Twitter-clients for Mac and a few applications that I use every day, minimized on the MacBook Air screen. Some applications work very well, some do not work at all.
