The base iPhone 14 will get cheaper displays than the iPhone 14 Pro

Korean edition of The Elec figured outthat Samsung will supply different grade displays for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro. The screens of the top versions will be made from the latest materials such as M12 - the same Samsung will use in the production of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4. But the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus will receive last year's M11 materials.
Samsung adheres to the same policy in its smartphones. In the line introduced at the beginning of the year Galaxy S22 only the Ultra and Plus models used M11 generation materials, while the base model was content with M10. According to the source, such a scheme is used to reduce costs.
Interestingly, some of the displays for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro Max will be supplied by LG - and it will not make any difference in materials. Both new items will be made from the current generation of RS-L materials (RS-K was used in the iPhone 13). This will be the first time that Apple has purchased LTPO displays from LG.
Formerly the British consulting company Omdia, specializing in the field of telecommunications and technologies,
shared 14th generation iPhone screen specifications:- iPhone 14: 6.06-inch LTPS OLED with 2532×1172 pixels.
- iPhone 14 Pro: 6.12-inch LTPO OLED with a resolution of 2564 × 1183 pixels.
- iPhone 14 Plus: 6.68-inch LTPS OLED with 2778×1284 pixels.
- iPhone 14 Pro Max: 6.69-inch LTPO OLED with 2802×1294 pixels.
At the same time, there will be no difference in the size of the front panels of the basic and top versions: the differences in the display sizes are associated with the lack of a “bangs” in the Pro versions. Her will replace a pair of neat holes for the front camera and Face ID.
