Phone scammers began to fake the voice of "Alice"
Miscellaneous / / July 29, 2022
Hear the familiar voice of the assistant - hang up.
Yandex on your blog warnsthat the attackers began calling users using the voice of "Alice" - more precisely, very similar to it. They include pre-read phrases designed to attract attention and offer various ways of income or services.
Such calls, of course, have nothing to do with the company. Their sole purpose is to deceive the user and gain access to confidential data, including bank data.
The phones from which such “Alice” calls are blacklisted so that the caller ID built into the Yandex application warns in advance that it is not worth picking up the phone.
The real "Alice" also knows how to control the phone. For example, Plus subscribers can ask her to answer suspicious calls, record them and send transcripts. Also, at your request, "Alice" can dial a number from the address book, but she will never start a telephone conversation herself. Therefore, in order to protect yourself from scammers, it is enough to know: if you hear the voice of “Alice” in the receiver, this is a hoax.
