Mysterious holes found at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean at a depth of 4 km

They have the same shape and are located at an equal distance - in one line.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) scientists currently studying the Atlantic Ocean stumbled to a series of strange holes at the bottom, which they could not explain.
During Saturday's dive, we observed several of these sub-linear sets of holes in the sediments. Such holes have been previously reported in this region, but their origin is still a mystery. Although they look almost man-made, the small piles of sediment around the holes make them look like they were dug up by…something.

Personnel made while observing an underwater volcano near the Azores at a depth of more than 4 km, which definitely excludes the possibility of man-made origin. Perhaps the holes were made by some kind of marine animal, the scientists suggested.
The study area, the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, is a site of frequent tectonic activity and earthquakes, so scientists do not exclude that hydrothermal vents are behind the appearance of holes.
Also among the versions already proposed by netizens: bottom marking by previous missions or soil sampling by another research company using a manipulator. This could explain the number of holes, their similar shape and equal distance between them. However, it has not yet been possible to confirm any of the theories.
