Users complain that the new MacBook Air in Midnight shade attracts fingerprints and scratches

The main color of the new Macbook Air with the M2 processor, the Midnight shade became: blue-black, complementing the iPhone 13 in the color of the same name. It was from his demonstration that Apple began the presentation of the new computer, given that he and Starlight are new colors in the line. But, judging by the reviews of the first users, the dark laptop turned out to be not the most successful.

The lid constantly collects fingerprints and any dirt - which is generally logical, given that computers in the Space Gray shade have always suffered from the same problem. But there is a more serious problem: scratches and chipped paint, especially near the connectors.

Judging by the posts on the Internet, the paint comes off especially easily in the area of ​​\u200b\u200bthe USB-C connectors, but the cover also suffers from this. There are even messagesthat the metal is exposed after the first use of the port.

Interestingly, only the Midnight version receives such complaints: the second new shade, Starlight, is not seen to be prone to scratches. But numerous tech bloggers complain about the blue version, including Marques Brownlee and wilsacom.

This is not the first time that certain shades of Apple technology are less successful: remember at least the iPhone 7 in Jet Black. It is not yet known how Apple will react to the criticism of users: it is possible that in future revisions the coating will be improved, or this coloring will be completely abandoned.
