Google Docs will learn how to notify about changes in shared files
Miscellaneous / / July 20, 2022
The feature that users have been waiting for years will be available to all accounts.
On the Google Workspace Blog appeared a description of the new feature coming to Google Docs shortly. This is an option to be notified of changes to documents, just like you can now be notified of comments.
Thus, you can immediately see that someone has started work on a common project or made changes to your text. The interface of the letters themselves is quite simple and understandable: you can immediately see what was added or deleted, and who did it.
If you've been bombarded with notifications for a document you're no longer working with, you can turn off notification and comment messages right in the email. In addition, notifications need to be enabled manually for each document, which will also save you from email blockages.
Unlike many Google Workspace innovations, this feature will be available to all users, both with and without a subscription. The update will roll out gradually, it will take 2-4 weeks depending on the type of account. Just in time to spread by the beginning of the school year.
