"Night Watch" and "Brother" raised much less money.
10. Yolki-3
- Russia, 2013.
- Comedy.
- Duration: 100 minutes.
- IMDb: 5.4.
- Fees: 1.245 billion rubles.
Nastya is left without her beloved dog Pirate on the eve of the New Year - her mother takes the dog to London. The girl's story about this becomes the most discussed event on social networks, and also launches the "Boomerang of Kindness" campaign, which unites all the characters in the film.
The Yolki franchise includes eight parts, but the third one turned out to be the most successful (from a commercial point of view). Dogs became important characters in the film, and two years later the film “Shaggy Christmas Trees” will be released, where animals will play the main roles. The crisis will overtake the franchise later. The eighth part will not collect even a million dollars at the box office, despite the stellar cast with Ivan Urgant and Sergey Svetlakov at the head.
Not the most sought-after directors worked on the third part, and the film helped them: Anton Megerdichev will shoot “Upward Movement” in a few years, Dmitry Kiselev will work on the film “Time of the First”.

9. Crew
- Russia, 2016.
- Thriller, drama.
- Duration: 138 minutes.
- IMDb: 6.6.
- Fees: 1.505 billion rubles.
Stylish drama about a young pilot who has difficulty landing aircraft. Overcoming snow and hail, the main character (played by Danila Kozlovsky) tries to save the lives of passengers.
Nikolai Lebedev managed to make a movie that combines drama and a disaster film and at the same time is not devoid of humor - it is not enough, but it hits right on target. Sometimes the picture is called a remake of the "Crew" in 1979, which is not entirely true. The scriptwriters use some plot moves from the Soviet film and even make references to it, but the similarities are not fundamental.
One way or another, the picture raised a lot of money. Perhaps the fees helped to increase the existence of the Soviet film with the same name. Or perhaps the popularity was influenced by the use of advanced technologies - "The Crew" became the second Russian film shot in IMAX 3D.

8. viking
- Russia, 2016.
- historical drama.
- Duration: 142 minutes.
- IMDb: 4.6.
- Fees: 1.534 billion rubles.
This is a large and multi-layered drama about Prince Vladimir and the baptism of Russia. Fratricide sows discord in the ruling family. The young Prince Vladimir is forced to take revenge on his brother Yaropolk, who killed another brother, Prince Oleg. But the actions of the protagonist are aimed not only at restoring justice, but also at changing the entire state.
The picture was filmed for six years, the producers involved historical consultants. And even despite this, it turned out to be an ambiguous work. The film was criticized for the distortion of historical facts and disdain for the film language, which is used to talk about the X century. The most meticulous viewers collected film bloopers and wondered why the long production did not affect their number: Prince Vladimir wearing underpants became a separate meme.
Nevertheless, the film collected a solid box office. Firstly, a serious advertising campaign helped: at the same time, it was breaking records "Game of Thrones", which was often mentioned in the Viking advertisement. Secondly, the popularity of Danila Kozlovsky played a role: by 2016, he had finally become almost the main star of Russian cinema.

Good humor, great work with costumes and nice graphics meet expectations from family movie. At the same time, the picture bypassed its predecessors in terms of fees: the first film of the trilogy brought the creators 1.732 billion rubles, the second - 2.106 billion, and the third - 2.265. The audience was attracted to cinemas by a powerful advertising campaign. Also, the success of Legend #17 may have helped: People remembered the breakout sports drama and trusted Move Up. And judging by the ratings and reviews, not in vain.
The film was criticized except for the distortion of facts, but for a sports drama this is the norm. Well, in some episodes, “Moving Up” resembles a parody: the picture has collected all the clichés. For example, there is a clear division of characters into positive and negative ones, slowdowns before the final roll and artsy personal dramas.
