The creators of “Stranger Things” spoke about the 5th season of the series and the upcoming spin-off
Miscellaneous / / July 06, 2022
According to the directors, the final season will be similar to the last episodes of the 4th, and the new project will be 1000% different.
On July 1, the final episodes of the 4th season of Stranger Things aired. The final turned out very coolbut left some questions. In a recent interview with Deadline, the Duffer Brothers, the creators of the series, answered some of them, as well as talked about the upcoming events of Season 5.
The biggest question is that we showed at the end of the first part how the Upside Down got stuck in time on the day Will disappeared. It's something we don't answer in the second act, and it's really a key plot point, a key question, which will determine our final season as we try to complete this story and give the rest answers.
Ross Duffer
We knew it would be the penultimate season, so we were able to do a lot of things that we couldn't do before, like the four gates clash. We always wanted the Upside Down to invade Hawkins on a larger scale. We hinted at it a bit in Season 2, but we wanted a real invasion, and it's something you just can't rewind.

The Duffers also noted that the story of Dr. Martin Brenner is not over yet. In season 5, some attention will be paid to the creation of a government program for unusual children, which he led.
As for Max, the Duffers are reluctant to comment on her further fate.
In fact, Max's mind is completely empty right now. There is nothing there, and therefore the Eleventh is powerless there. It was like a minor victory in the sense that she was able to perform some sort of miracle and bring her back to life. But in fact, she is not alive in the sense in which we think of the living. Eleven understands this, and this is a very difficult moment for her.

The Duffers have confirmed that the fifth season will wrap up the story and leave no questions asked. You will have to say goodbye to your favorite characters completely, but some characters may appear in the spin-off - the directors about its development told aired on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
The brothers noted that the spin-off would be directed by someone else and would not focus on Eleven, Dustin, or a different test number, as some rumors suggested. The series will not even have a direct connection with Stranger Things - it will be "1000% different from it." All that's left is the storytelling style, with nods to 1980s fantasy adventure.
Jim Hopper actor David Harbour, in an interview with GQ, too hinted on a spin-off, suggesting that it could be dedicated to a young Hopper. But it's unlikely we'll find out until Season 5, which, according to preliminary data, could be released in mid-2024.
