The 2nd part of the 4th season of Stranger Things will amaze even the fans of the series. And that's why
Miscellaneous / / July 01, 2022
The ending turned out to be the most ambitious and gloomy for the entire project.
On July 1, the final two episodes of the fourth season of Stranger Things premiered on Netflix. This is not the first time that the platform divides the most popular releases into several parts - this helps to keep subscribers. But this is the first time that this has happened to this series.
About the first seven episodes that have developed into an almost full season, Lifehacker has already wrote spring.
Now you can make out the ending. Surprisingly, in this case, the division does not seem formal. The finale continues the main theme, but still stands out in terms of atmosphere. Here are four reasons why the second part of the season came out very cool.
Beware, there are spoilers ahead for the start of Season 4. If you are not ready to learn them, read our compilation the best fantasy series.
1. Two episodes look like a separate season
In the finale of the seventh series, Eleven learned that Vecna was a former employee of Henry's laboratory and at the same time the first patient of Dr. Brenner. And in parallel, the monster itself showed Nancy its origin and asked to convey something to an old friend.
At this shocking cliffhanger, the story ended: it became clear that the Eleventh was partly to blame for all the horrors that were happening. Such ambiguity has led fans to build their theories. Someone suggested that Henry is the real father of the girl, Will is still possessed by the Mind Flayer, and the Demogorgons are former people.
In fact, the plot still leaves room for interpretation. But the fact that the two episodes were separated allowed some fan speculation to brew.
Moreover, the authors of the project, the Duffer brothers, released not just ordinary series. They said in advance that each of them would run like a feature film. But the creators even softened the truth a little. The duration of the eighth series is 1 hour 25 minutes, the ninth is already 2 hours 22 minutes. That is, in total it is like 5-6 episodes of a regular series (or one "Irishman» Martin Scorsese).
2. Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2 finally reveals all the characters
At the beginning of the fourth season, it seemed that there were too many characters in the series and there was simply not enough time for some of them. This was primarily about Will: he just followed his friends and did almost nothing.
But the ending changes everything. The same Will gives out almost the most emotional scenes of the season and finally explains who is who in their group friends. Rookie Eddie gets a very cool solo outing, plays the Master of Puppets guitar and looks just as good with Dustin as Steve. Even Lucas, the most unnecessary hero in the first part, is allowed to open up. And the story of Joyce and Hopper, although it remains separate from the rest of the plot, no longer feels like stretching the timing. It adds emotion and parallels to the main action.
Strictly speaking, superfluous heroes still remain: Jonathan will never show himself, evil basketball players simply appear at the right moment to interfere with plans. But these little things can be forgiven.
3. The finale of the 4th season is the most terrible and large-scale thing that happened in the series
Almost every season is built according to the same principle: the heroes are divided into small teams, each of which solves its own problems. By the last episodes, the lines inevitably converge.
But this time the ending was released separately, which, of course, affects the perception. It turns out that on July 1, a kind of Boss Fight came out, as they call it in computer games. Fight with the main villain.
And here both the scale and changes in the atmosphere of the series are already fully revealed. "Stranger Things" is increasingly turning into a horror film, and at some points even into body horror. Different other worlds are shown incredibly beautifully: they differ in color scheme and pump up gloom with each scene.
Moreover, the plot of the series becomes more complicated. Here, literally everyone is stalking each other and making deceptive plans. But at the same time, “Very strange things” do not turn into “Darkness” - everything is intuitively clear here, you don’t have to draw diagrams.
4. Fans will be pleased with the groundwork for the continuation
It was already known in advance that Stranger Things was renewed for a fifth, final season. But the last scene of the series suggests what the characters will face in the future. And it seems that this will be the most global and dangerous problem.
Of course, only the season finale was officially released on July 1st. If you watch all nine episodes in a row, the plot will look more solid. But after some waiting, two episodes are even more impressive. They are large, dark and very beautiful.
