Google releases new Gmail design

Earlier this year, Google announced an updated Gmail that will make it easier to switch between Gmail, Chat, and Meet features. Now some users have started to receive this update.

If it is available to you, when you enter your mailbox, you will see a prompt to set up Chat and Meet integration, and you will also notice changes in the interface. The new version allows you to quickly switch between mail, meetings and important correspondence without opening new tabs. If you wish, you can return to the old design in the settings.

Also in the new interface, the design of the icons on the right panel has changed: now they are modern versions in the style of Material You, which Google has been actively promoting since 2021.

The new interface has already begun to gradually spread to all Gmail users (both with a subscription and with a regular Google account). The only exceptions are the owners of the Google Workspace Essentials plan: the update will reach them later. It is noted that for users with different types of accounts, the interface of the updated application will be different.
