With life on Mars, space marines and robots that milk cows.
"Kinopoisk" officially confirmed work on the series "Cybervillage". It will expand the universe created by the authors of the YouTube channel birchpunk. The director will be Sergei Vasiliev, who participated in the creation of the original videos.
The plot of the series will be dedicated to Nikolai, who lives with his family in a cybervillage on Mars. He calmly runs a robotic economy until the head of a large corporation arrives on the planet, who wants to build a new factory on the site of the village.
There will be 10 episodes in total, in each of which the characters will find themselves in a new unique location. Viewers will see more than 100 robots and drones, 50 types of space technology and 10 new worlds. Filming will start by the end of 2022.
Kinopoisk is producing Cybervillage together with the Place of Power studio, which is led by Valery Fedorovich and Evgeny Nikishov (“Epidemic»). They noted:
In Cybervillage we create the world by mixing our national organics and high technology, comedy and science fiction, space and agriculture. It's like Love and Doves and Star Wars come together in the same script.
The first comedy video about the “Russian cybervillage” was released on the birchpunk YouTube channel at the end of 2020. To date, it has over 11 million views.
