For those who prefer to listen to albums and playlists from their computer.
In case you don't have an internet connection or lose access to a streaming service, it's useful to have a player at hand that will help you collect a collection of your favorite songs and play them in any moment.
MusicSource is an open source browser application. source code. It does not have a lot of features, its main task is to scan the hard drive directory of your choice and present all the collected albums in a convenient format. The player may appeal to those who do not like to install unnecessary programs on the drive, but rather use web services.
The interface design is very reminiscent of YouTube Music. After parsing the selected audio folder, MusicSource creates a catalog that can be sorted by album list, songs, artists, and playlists. There is also a tab with your favorite songs that you like.
MusicSource only works in Chromium-based browsers. The most popular ones are Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera, Yandex Browser, Vivaldi. You can upload MP3, AAC and FLAC files to the collection.
At the bottom of the MusicSource window are the standard controls for rewind, switch songs, repeat, shuffle, and there's also a like button. At any time, the composition database can be cleared and a new music catalog can be added.
