Cyborgs have long been among people. But they aren't scary at all.
In May 2022 appeared newsMan paralyzed from waist down uses microchip implanted in brain to drive race car / CBS4, which may suggest that we are already living at least in 2052. She sounds like this. The paralyzed racer learned to control the car with the power of his mind. Thanks to the neuroimplant.
Aldana Zuniga was paralyzed from the waist down after an accident in 2013. And now, after 9 years, he again got behind the wheel. American doctors and engineers have developed a system that allows you to control the car using two chips: one is built into Aldana's brain, the second is in the car. The neuroimplant transmits electrical signals from Aldana's brain to the computer, which interprets them and starts the corresponding mechanisms in the machine. With the power of thought, for example, you can start an engine. But to control the car - turn and brake - allows a special helmet.
This is a cool experience, and therefore scientists do not plan to stop there. There is an idea to use a similar system to control electric wheelchairs and robotic devices. However, the chip in the brain of the racer is not an exceptional case of implanting chips in the human body. In this issue, you will hear about others.
