Second strain of monkeypox found in US

The discovery of a new variant of the virus in such a short time may indicate that the disease has gone unnoticed for a long time.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed the detection of a second strain of monkeypox that has begun spread around the world in May this year. The new variant of the virus has not been previously identified in those infected.
Doctors considerthat the discovery of a second strain confirms recent findings that monkeypox has been circulating undetected for some time. Although so far this is also only a preliminary version, which requires more in-depth testing.
I think it is quite possible that there may have been cases of monkeypox in the United States that had previously gone unnoticed, but the number is small. There may be transmission at the community level.”

Although the WHO has called the spread of monkeypox an "outbreak", the nature of the disease and how it spreads make it impossible to speak of a new pandemic of COVID-19 proportions. However, the fact that it has been circulating in society for some time may complicate the further fight against the disease.
At the moment, there is no verified contact information, and it is difficult to understand where cases are occurring and who should take precautions. It is only known that tactile contact with the patient's skin or things is sufficient for transmission.
Worldwide, the number of confirmed and suspected cases exceeds 1,000 and continues to grow, with the UK, Spain and Portugal accounting for the largest numbers.
