"Yandex" launches "Course to Mars" - a free online course on astronautics

Yandex Q, together with the Summer Space School, is launching a free all-Russian online course on astronautics called “Course to Mars”. It will be held from June 4 to July 6 in the format of live broadcasts, but classes will also be available in the recording.

The program includes lectures on the history of the study of Mars, projects of unmanned vehicles and manned missions, the climate of the Red Planet, the possibility of long-term settlements, and more.

Among the speakers: astronomer Vladimir Surdin, science journalist Mikhail Kotov, spacecraft specialist Ilya Ovchinnikov, senior researcher at IKI RAS Denis Belyaev and others.

All lecturers will be able to take part in an interactive simulation of a manned expedition to Mars, and the most active course participants will receive special prizes.
