NASA published new photo taken by the Hubble telescope. It shows NGC 3631, a spiral galaxy of grandiose design. This term describes spiral galaxies of almost perfect shape. NGC 3631 is located 53 million light-years from Earth in the constellation Ursa Major.
To create a photo, we used data from two Hubble cameras: Advanced Camera for Surveys, which collected data in visible light, while Wide Field Camera 3 also works in infrared and ultraviolet in addition to visible light range.
This image is obtained by combining the received data. This allowed NASA scientists to look at the large spiral arms of NGC 3631, which show dark dust lanes and bright regions of new stars along the inner part - they are bright blue in the photo.
