Netflix's 'The Witcher' Prequel May Arrive in October

It looks like the series will be very short.
The Redanian Intelligence publication, known for accurate leaks about projects in the Witcher universe, shared insider information about the series "The Witcher: Origins"(original title - Blood Origins," Blood Origins ").
In particular, the release dates were disclosed. A May-August 2022 release was originally reported, but given the lack of a promotional campaign, this is unlikely. According to the source of the publication, now the premiere is scheduled for October, although further shifts to December are not excluded.
Not only the release date differs from the original plans, but also the number of episodes. The already modest six episodes in post-production were cut to four.
Another important detail concerns the appearance of Buttercup in the series. Back in October, the same outlet reported that the popular character would have a role in the prologue that is currently unfolding. The bard will begin to tell the story of events that took place 1200 years ago, but the elf will declare that Dandelion has distorted everything - and the real story will begin.
It was previously expected that the character would appear only at the beginning and, probably, at the very end - like an adult Bilbo in the Hobbit trilogy. But, according to the source, the authors filmed additional scenes with Dandelion in order to more strongly connect the "Origin" with the "Witcher". Most likely, we are talking about small interruptions in the story - given the plot, the bard will definitely not participate in it.
Recall that The Witcher: Origins will tell about the era of the Conjunction of the Spheres, when the first monsters and witchers appeared. The series will also reveal what the elves were like before colonization - and what they were deprived of by people under the guise of initiation into civilization.
