Let me know: how to combine work and study?

Inside is the sad story of our author.
Lera Babitskaya
Journalist. I write for Lifehacker.
In my second year of college, I started working at a digital agency. It was just beginning to develop, and business processes were not built clearly enough. This resulted in overwork and an irregular schedule.
As a result, one day I found myself falling asleep at the laptop, although I did not even remember how this happened. I just got knocked out. In his hand was a bank of energy.
For about a month I lived in the mode “I leave the hostel at 7 am and return at 1 am”. I didn't have time to hang out with my friends and my own hobbies. Then I got my first two in the exam, which finally finished me off. There was a choice: quit work or study. And I decided to quit.
Six years later, I understand: the problem was the inability to prioritize, defend their boundaries and objectively evaluate the time to complete tasks. If I could go back in time, I would share with myself a couple of tips that would help me maintain a balance between work and study.
Have you had such an experience? What advice would you give? Perhaps the life hacks that you share will be useful for students who want to quickly realize themselves in the professional field.
Author, interviewer. I communicate with people and share their stories about professional and personal life. I carefully study scientific sources. I put experiments on myself and talk about the results: I have already tried mnemonics, speed reading, meditation.
