Giant power bank for travel and emergencies.
Anker has announced the PowerHouse 757 external battery charger with a 1229 Wh battery. Its automotive aluminum alloy body has high corrosion resistance, anti-vibration and heat resistance.
This charging station offers 6 sockets with a total power of 1500W, four USB-A sockets (12W each), two USB-C sockets (100W and 60W) and a cigarette lighter socket (120W). In the event of a power outage, it will be able to operate the refrigerator for 2.7 hours, or power a lighting fixture (12 W) for 82 hours or a 43-inch TV for 9 hours.
It can be used as a source of uninterrupted power: in case of a power outage, it turns on in 20 ms. A special system on a chip is used for power distribution.
In less extreme scenarios, the device is capable of charging a smartphone up to 97 times, a laptop 17 times, a drone 24 times, or power a portable refrigerator for 22 hours, a fan for 28 hours or a powerful electric grill (1 150 W) for 48 minutes. You can charge it with solar panels, but they are not included in the kit. The manufacturer claims that it will take 3.6 hours to charge from 0 to 80% with three panels.
It uses a lithium iron phosphate battery (LiFePO4). It is capable of surviving 3,000 recharge cycles versus 500 for lithium-ion batteries, and higher thermal and chemical stability make such stations safer. But the device weighs a lot: 19.9 kg.
The Anker PowerHouse 757 will go on sale May 9 for $1,399, with early buyers receiving a $200 discount.
