Streaming service Peacock has launched a new film adaptation of the Casper comics. It will be a horror/adventure live-action series more reminiscent of Riverdale in tone. About it reported Deadline edition.
In the story, the family moves to the town of Eternal Falls, and Casper tries to unravel the secrets that were buried over 100 years ago. It is also noted that the action will take place mainly in high school.
The project will be written and executive produced by Kai-Yu Woo, who wrote the script for the Netflix series Ghost Bride. She also worked on the series The Flash and Hannibal. The series will be produced by UCP, a division of the Universal Studio Group, and DreamWorks Animation.
The information was already indirectly confirmed by Kai-Yu Wu herself: she retweeted a Deadline post with the caption, "My friends and family know how important this film is to my heart. I am so happy and grateful to everyone who helped make this dream a reality.”
