Life hack: how to return Mir cards to Apple Pay
Miscellaneous / / April 22, 2022
It won't take more than a minute.
March 24 Apple restricted Possibility of contactless payment with Mir payment system cards using iPhone and Apple Watch. New cards could not be added to Apple Pay, and already linked ones stopped working. But users have found an unusual way to relink cards and use them for payment.
You must first put the iPhone in Lost Mode, and then restore access to the smartphone. For this:

2 / 0
3 / 0
- Go to site icloud.com and sign in with the account you use on your iPhone.
- Open the Find My iPhone section.
- In the list of available devices, select the desired smartphone and click on it.
- In the window that opens, select "Lost Mode".
- Wait a few seconds until the Lost Mode icon appears next to the device name.
After that, the iPhone will require you to enter your Apple ID password. You may also need to enter a code from another device if two-factor authentication is enabled.
After authorization, you will see notifications from Wallet about the successful addition of cards. Visa and Mastercard cannot be used for payments in stores, but payments go through Mir.
If you wish, you can repeat the same steps with the Apple Watch so that contactless payment works on the watch too.
It is worth noting that this method will only work with previously added cards: it will no longer be possible to link a new one. In addition, there is a possibility that Apple will fix this workaround in the near future and it will also stop working, but at the time of publication, Lifehacker was able to confirm that it works.
