Private Russian aerospace company Success Rockets introduced light orbital rocket Stalker, which will be used to launch small satellites into orbit.
The first rocket launch should take place in 2024. It will be able to deliver up to 700 kg of payload into orbit up to 700 km. The mass was calculated taking into account forecasts regarding the development of the space launch market in the future 5-10 years, said Oleg Mansurov, CEO of the company.
The Stalker is 33 meters high and 2.2 meters in diameter. The head fairing in size will be provided both corresponding to the rocket itself, and increased to 3.2 m. The starting mass of the carrier is 83.5 tons.
Both rocket stages will be powered by Lucky Engine-11 (LE11) liquid-propellant engines powered by oxygen-kerosene steam. Nine engines are installed on the first stage, while only one high-altitude unit is provided on the second stage. The design of the engine is based on the idea of its reusable application.
The fairing and body parts will be made of carbon composite. Its production is planned to be deployed in Russia.
