Warner Bros. decided revive the IT franchise with a prequel series called Welcome to Derry. Its action will unfold in the 60s, before the events of the original film.
In addition to the life of the town of Derry, the show will show the story of the clown Pennywise, who should become one of the central characters.
Andres Muschietti, director of the recent It films released in 2017 and 2019, will serve as one of the executive producers. He can also direct the pilot episode.
Welcome to Derry is due for release on HBO Max. Release dates have not yet been announced.
